We have also shot for numerous directors working on commercials, documentaries and corporate content.

Negotiating Space

We made this video for the Isandla Institute. It explores the potential for informal settlement upgrading to bring about social and spatial transformation in South African cities. We invite you to use the documentary as a tool for animating conversation about innovative and rights-based practices that can be used in the making of inclusive and sustainable cities.

MapBlitz

The fun, educational, and engaging world map puzzles (with a time challenge option). The puzzles are for individuals, schools, corporates, families and friends. Each country and/or island is a puzzle piece. The countries are scaled and shaped as accurate as possible. Phase one is the Africa map puzzle.

EAGER Namibia

EAGER aims to decrease the livelihood challenges that youth experience in pre and post-disaster situations by helping them to critically engage their environments, and to use photography as a tool, giving them a chance to participate by having a platform to speak out. Client: African Centre for Disaster Studies at North West University.

Sense Mokoti

As part of this effort we created a set of short video profiles that give insight into the local context and experience of disaster risk as expressed by locals, showing the complexity regarding risks, hazards and capacity faced by those living in the areas where EAGER is active.

The Right to The City

This is an essayist film exploring the notion of the 'right to the city'. Produced for one of Africa's leading urban development agencies (Insandla Institute), the film looks at the lived experiences of 3 people residing on the outskirts of Cape Town and tracks their struggles to gain access to the city.

The Hopefield Wind Farm Local Community Company

The Hopefield Wind Farm Local Community Company is a non-profit that owns a share in Umoya Energy, the company that developed the Hopefield Wind Farm.  The Community Company has partnered with climate change consultancy, SouthSouth North to implement the Hopefield Home Improvement Project, which this video is about.

Vermaaklikheid

The Duiwenhoks Conservancy is a non-profit organisation formed in 2000 and made up of local stakeholders who are committed to conserving the village of Vermaaklikheid. The conservancy provides a platform for stakeholders to communicate about local challenges, raise funds and support projects that are aligned with the collective vision for the area. This video was made to raise awareness of the project.

Sydney Mathebula
